The aim of the programme is to engage our students in the quest for new trends and perspectives in the field of art and design, through different actions, such as master classes, workshops, international events, business links and in doing so we are able to share ideas, knowledge and synergy.
Four mainstays sustain these actions:
We offer our students the latest in content, tools and experiences through workshops and master classes where they can develop and take advantage of the success stories of the professionals of design.
With this in mind, we have set a regular event on Wednesday afternoons for these encounters, which we have called Big Bang Bits, open to the all those who are interested.
Furthermore, each pathway has its own theme days with the latest contents and professionals. During these days the campus is exclusively devoted to exhibitions, workshops and master classes around the chosen discipline of design.
In our eagerness to prepare our students for the job market we provide links with different companies, where our students will have the chance to put their knowledge into practise and meet the reality of their professions, while they develop a useful experience to include in their portfolio.
COLLABORATIVE PROJECTS WITH INTERNATIONAL COLLEGES
In Barreira A+D we try to adapt our programme to the needs of a global society. With this aim, we search for an a academic training linked to other international schools and colleges, so our students and the foreign ones can work together with a common purpose: to make their project a reality. We want diversity to be visible and think design should be adapted to the social and cultural situation of each individual.
By developing cross-disciplinary actions we promote creativity and teamwork as the key to develop professionally. These types of activities lead to creative and innovative solutions where cooperation is essential to carry out new techniques and ways of understanding design.
In this sense, Barreira Art + Design has, throughout the academic year, a busy schedule of cultural events and activities where the students can experience the reality of their profession.
